Suppin Rumiko no Sake Muroka Nama Genshu No.6

$53.40
‘Suppin’ translates into ‘to go bare-faced or without makeup’ and explains that this sake is made without unnecessary manipulation or work. A ‘Pure Rice’ sake made without charcoal filtration, pasteurisation or dilution. Robust and full flavour. Tasting Note: Displays a vibrant, pale lemon colour in the glass. Aromatics take some time to emerge, and while only mildly intense the aromas are quite complex with notes of white flowers and acacia, layered over pear, green apple, custard and white chocolate. There's a good weight to this sake on the palate, creamy and textural, showing excellent umami feel. As with the nose this is notably complex with flavours of pear, apple, hints of lychee and green melon, custard and white chocolate. Excellent. Serve chilled.

Luce 2019

$175.00

TUSCAN TRADITION

2019: a balanced and late vintage. A cold and sunny winter was followed by a spring characterized by low average temperatures and heavy rainfall, which contributed to the creation of important water reserves in the soil. The reduced sunlight coupled with the heavy rainfall resulted in a slight delay of about ten days in the vegetative cycle of the grapevines. The flowering phase took place in early June, after which the growing season continued regularly with a hot summer free of excessive temperatures and some rainfall occurring between late July and early August, which supported a vigorous and efficient growth of the leaves. The mild temperatures in September and the good water reserves supported a slow and regular ripening of the grapes, which resulted in perfectly ripe, highly intense tannins rich in aromatic freshness. The harvest began with a sunny climate on September 12 with the first Merlot grapes, continued with Sangiovese in late September and early October. The wines are structured showing balance, vigor and great aging potential. Luce 2019 has an intense ruby red color. The nose is striking with its floral hints of violet and rose accompanied by red fruits such as raspberries and sweet spices. In the mouth, the wine is balanced and elegant with an almost creamy texture supported by silky and well-integrated tannins. Spicy notes accompany the persistent finish. Food Pairing: Beef, Lamb, Veal, Poultry, Cured Meat

Starward Dolce

$145.00
Dolce, a single, limited release, is a melding of juicy wine and oak characters with a flourish of sweet ‘Sicilian’ notes; marshmallow and cola. A twice distilled single malt spirit. Made with Australian barley and brewers' yeast for extra flavour. This Single Malt Australian Whisky was matured in Australian red wine barrels and then finished in barrels that held an Australian interpretation of a Sicilian Dessert Wine. It is the newest release from the Starward Projects, a program where distillers get to experiment with different whiskies and create flavour forward and unique expressions. That is why Dolce is unlike any released before. Intriguing marshmallow and cola characters melding with the Starward stamp of red wine barrel maturation, it is an embodiment of the Italian word for sweet, Dolce. This one's a stunning straight sipper, especially with a cheeseboard, after dinner or just as your dessert! Nose: Dried fruits, toasted marshmallows, and marzipan. Palate: Initial sweetness on the front palate, rich dried fruits, brown sugar, cola and toasted marshmallows. Finish: Palate is viscous, caramelised but enough tannin leaving a well-balance finish.
