Louis M. Martini Lot 1 2017

$270.00
Lot No. 1 is something of a mosaic of iconic appellations and vineyards an assemblage of Napa Valleyā€™s best mountain, benchland and valley floor fruit. The 2017 vintage is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak, Howell Mountain, Stags Leap, Mount Veeder and other stellar sites throughout Napa Valley AVA. From a growing perspective in 2017, ample winter rains fueled vine growth early in the season followed by steady warmth in the summer and fall, leading to a slightly early harvest with ripe, fruit driven intensity. Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon "A soft, juicy red with licorice and aniseed undertones to the blueberries and sage. Candy. Medium to full body with agility and elegance. Drinkable now, but better in 2022." - 95 points, James Suckling "A rich, lush style, with creamed plum, blueberry and warmed blackberry compote flavors gliding along, laced with cocoa and warm earth notes. A black licorice note drapes over the fruit on the finish, and there's a violet note hanging in the background. Large-scaled and well-defined. Best from 2022 through 2035. 1,272 cases made." - 94 points, Wine Spectator

Fords Gin

$76.00
There are countless brands that offer creative twists on the traditional gin formula: Hendricks, with cucumber and rose; Aviation, with lavender and sarsaparilla; The Botanist, with mint and chamomile. While all of these newer brands provide exciting variations on the typical gin flavor profile, their ability to deliver effectively in a wide range of cocktails is limited. Fords is the melding of both worlds, in that our high juniper content firmly establishes our credentials as a classic London dry, but has a unique blend of florals, spices, and citrus underneath it to give it a more current twist.
  • Aroma: Juniper, coriander & angelica up front with developing layers of citrus, jasmine & hints of vanilla in the background. Bright & expressive on the nose.
  • Flavor: Fresh, round citrus profiles on the opening with a light sweetness and blossoming bouquet of orris, cassia & grapefruit.
  • Texture: Medium body, viscous & silky on the palate. Long, lingering mouthfeel.
  • Intangibles: Impeccably balanced without anyone botanical dominating. Finishes dry with full-figured notes of grapefruit peel & long-lasting juniper impression.

Contador 2015

$495.00
The red flagship 2015 Contador was selected from vines over 60 years of age, and it fermented in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in new French oak barrels for 20 months. It feels like a great vintage for the top bottling, as it has enough ripeness and concentration but is also terribly elegant, floral and nuanced. 2015 was a warm and dry year with the risk of excessive wines, but this Contador is beautifully balanced and has a rare combination of concentration and lightness. There is a nice core of freshness that lifts the wine up and gives it length. 6,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2017. 100% Tempranillo
