$51.04
Beronia Reserva is made from a selection of the best grapes from the oldest Tempranillo (95%), Graciano (4%) and Mazuelo (1%) vineyards. After being cold macerated prior to fermentation then fermented at a controlled temperature of between 26 and 28°C with regular pumping over to extract the desired aromas and colour, the wine was left for 19 months in French and American oak barrels and French oak barrels used to store two different wines. As result, the wine developed at a measured, even pace. It then completed its ageing in bottle for at least 17 months prior to being released. Beronia Reserva 2015 is a deep black cherry colour, clean and bright with a garnet rim. Attractive and appealing on the nose, it displays intense aromas of ripe fruit and herbs over a spicy background, along with distinct mineral notes and hints of tobacco leaf and white pepper that add complexity and youthfulness. On the palate, the most outstanding flavours are of fresh, acidic fruit over a sweet background of cacao and mint notes that make it quite appealing. With sweet, balanced tannins, Beronia Reserva is rounded, well-bodied, flavoursome and persistent whilst also displaying balanced acidity. Gonzalez Byass Tio Pepe En Rama 2020

$52.00
With fewer of the typical markers being filtered out, it brings us a more intense expression of the typical Carrascal and Macharnudo terroir. It was bottled from a hand-picked selection of 67 barrels which showed the most vigorous layer of flor. Tio Pepe En Rama 2020 was marked by an unusually dry and mild winter, followed by a cool and rainy spring. This year the profits are used to support the re-opening of bars and restaurants in Spain – another reason to try it. Pale yellow with golden glints. Slightly cloudy as it contains flor in suspension, reflecting its having been bottled “En Rama”. Complex on the nose, very sharp, with a strong aroma of the layer of flor, together with chalk, almonds, lemon, withered flowers, salt, and minerals. Concentrated, slightly creamy, salty, and full of flavour. It delivers an impressive finish, rounded and balanced, with notes of iodine, toasted almonds, aldehydes and dried flowers. The aftertaste is rounded and alluring, clearly harking back to its origins in the albariza soil yet also reflecting the significance of its biological ageing. This wine is the purest definition of vines and the winery. "Complex aromas of custard, mustard leaf, tar and spice. Full-to medium-bodied and very dry. Dried apples and pears. Fresh finish. Always excellent." - 92 points, James Suckling

Locations E4 Spanish Red Wine

$62.00
The interplay of provenance, artistry, freedom, and creativity is what inspires us at Locations. With the Iberian Peninsula serving as a backdrop, this fertile ground allowed us to incorporate these attributes into the fourth release of our Spanish offering.
