About brand

The González Byass wine story began in Jerez in 1835, when young entrepreneur Manuel María González started out as a wine trader. Rapid success led him into wine production, helped by his uncle José Ángel, known affectionately as Tio Pepe, after whom he named his first solera. 186 years later it is still very much a family concern and is now in the hands of the fifth generation of winemakers. Today the family owns 14 wineries, producing premium wines and spirits in Spain, Chile, and Mexico, where they are fully committed to preserving the natural environment for the generations to come.

Handpicked Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Promotion, Deals, Wine, Red
$85.00 $68.00
Margaret River, Australia This is a complex wine with aromas of black berry fruits, chocolate, and cedar with berry highlights. On the palate it has layers of interest starting with rich dark berry fruit flavours, deft oak treatment, and plush tannins. It is ready to drink and will age beautifully over the long term. This fruit was hand harvested in late March in a selection of our vineyards; the majority was from the Wilyabrup sub-region and there was a parcel from Carbunup. The wine was aged in French oak barriques, 30 per cent new, for 15 months.

Domaine Albert Mann Pinot Noir Les Saintes Claires 2020

Promotion, Deals, Wine, Red
$178.00
The vines, which are at least 25 years old, were planted near the Grand Cru Mambourg above the Clarisses monastery in Sigolsheim. The yields here are only 26 hl/ha. Ruby red color, beautiful shine. The nose is discreet with a floral touch as well as notes of mara strawberries. In the mouth, a precision, a depth, a radiance that makes you want to repeat endlessly. Beautiful body hold, this racy wine reveals superb liveliness. A touch on the palate with notes of velvet. It has a rigor and a solar tone which underline its raw material and allow this Pinot Noir to give a very gastronomic dimension. Food Pairing: Veal, Game, Poultry, Mushroom "Stunning blackberry and black-cherry nose with notes of orange zest and cinnamon. Such a graceful wine, the power and concentration below the waterline at the front and on the mid-palate, until they sweep you away at the diamond-bright finish. So much energy and vitality that it's dangerous! From a site just below the Grand Cru Furstentum. 65% whole cluster. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold." - 98 points, James Suckling

Louis M. Martini Lot 1 2013

Wine, Red
$420.00
A perfect wine, that seems to have gone from one strength to another since I first tasted it, the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 1 is absolutely amazing wine. It was aged 21 months in 87% new French oak, finished at 15.3% alcohol and was another abundant vintage, as this lot produced 850 cases, which is even more than 2012 and slightly less than 2003 and 2014. The wine has an inky purple color, a gorgeous nose of graphite, blueberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, blackberry, espresso roast, chocolate and graphite. Dense and incredibly intense with good acidity (slightly lower pH than the 2012, reflected in the character of the wine), fabulous purity and a finish that goes on for close to 50+ seconds. This could well turn out to be the greatest wine ever made at the Louis Martini Winery and that is saying something. It has at least 30-50+ years of aging potential and is clearly a compelling effort from this historic and iconic winery in Napa.

Louis M. Martini Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Promotion, Deals, Wine, Red
$185.00 $157.25
Our Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon was handcrafted from grapes 100 percent from the legendary Monte Rosso Vineyard. This impressive, fullbodied red wine has great depth and a surprisingly soft mouthfeel for such concentrated fruit. The wine swirls with aromas that include black cherry, earth and the classic Monte Rosso spice. On the palate, it offers red and dark fruit flavors including raspberry and blackberry, plus black fig and hints of dusty chocolate and espresso. Aging in French and American Oak created assertive-but-smooth tannins that melt seamlessly into a lingering, elegant finish filled with flavors of anise, toasted oak and vanilla. Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon "This bold, flavorful wine offers well-integrated tones of red currant, dried cherry, dusty leather and clove. Savory and profound in elongated tannins, it holds its powerful ripeness and structure with pride, showing the stuffing to age well." - Wine Enthusiast, 93 points "Well-crafted, offering a complex mix of rich berry and cherry fruit, with scents of dried herb and licorice that are supple and refined, gliding along on the palate to a happy finish. Drink now through 2028. 1,750 cases made." - 92 points, James Laube, Senior Editor at Wine Spectator

Chateau de Pommard Volnay 2017

Wine, Red
$120.00
The pebble-rich and limestone soils of Volnay, rising between 230 and 280 meters above sea level, makes for a delicate, aromatic, and elegant Pinot Noir revealing the feminine profile of the appellation. Cultivated since the Middle Ages, the vineyard located on the steep slopes of the hill of Chaignot has always been a perfect fit for Burgundy’s native red grape variety. With a delicate nose of peonies, strawberries, raspberries and cherries, our Volnay 2017 shows a feminine profile. The palate reveals notes of pomegranate and sweet spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon, as well as silky and smooth tannins. With pronounced intensity and long finish, it is a Pinot Noir made for aging, that will evolve beautifully. Recommended Serving Temperature: 16°C

Handpicked Regional Selection Rosé 2018

Promotion, Deals, Wine, Rosé
$48.00
Yarra Valley, Australia This wine was grown at our Highbow Hill Vineyard north of Yarra Glen township. The soils are sandy loam over clay and gravel over Yarra Valley mudstone. The Pinot Noir and Marsanne were planted in 1998. Varietal: Pinot Noir 95%, Marsanne 5% The colour is a clear light salmon, what the French would call “eye of partridge”. The nose has vibrant red fruit and spice aromas, and the palate is surprisingly weighty with juicy fruit flavours and savoury complexity enhanced by great texture. This wine is perfect for sipping on its own and will pair handsomely with a range of foods - pan fried rainbow trout with new potatoes, smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches, sushi.
