Amiral De Beychevelle 2020

$99.00
The vintage A mild winter preceded a hot and humid spring, encouraging early vine budding. The hot and dry conditions recorded from mid-June were offset by salvaging rainy spells in mid-August, ensuring the berries’ proper ripening. The alternation of sunny days and cool nights in September was ideal for achieving optimal maturity. The winemaking and ageing The manually harvested grapes undergo a bespoke winemaking process in the estate’s plot-based fermenting room. Ageing is carried out in barrels (of which 40% are new). Blend The 2020 Amiral de Beychevelle is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), Merlot (42%), Petit Verdot (4%) and Cabernet Franc (1%). Tasting Notes Nose: The expressive nose seduces with its floral fragrances, wherein notes of violet dominate. Palate: The beautifully fresh palate seduces with its powerful and silky tannins as well as its union of fruity (red fruits) and spicy aromas.

ROSÉ SYRAH | 2020 Casablanca Valley Organic Wine COMPOSITION 100% Syrah WINEMAKER’S NOTES The grapes are harvested in the early morning to keep them bright and fresh. The fruit goes in whole cluster into the press and is then racked off to stainless steel tanks for cold fermentation before it is bottled. 2020 VINTAGE An excellent harvest in the Casablanca Valley. The moderate temperatures during spring, without significant rains, allowed for good bud break and flowering. During summer there were no large diurnal temperatures, benefiting the ripening curve and helping maintain the freshness of the fruit in this zone. Harvest was pushed up by 10 days with respect to last year, and with lower yields that produced intense aromatics and flavors, producing fresh, intense wines with balanced acidity and a long finish. "Pale copper color with aromas of pomelo, cherries and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and a dry, savory finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. Screw cap." - 90 points, James Suckling
