Podere Le Ripi Amore e Magia 2016

Amore e Magia 2016 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Curiosity leads to Culture leads to Sensitivity leads to Enthusiasm leads to Love leads to Magic leads to Universal Love. Because Everybody feels the Magic. Therefore, Curiosityis a Universal Gift. - Francesco Illy Tasting notes: A deep ruby red, richer when compared to wines from our other vineyards. In the nose it expresses itself as a symphony of aromas going from the intense smell of red orange and violet to the fresh balsamic note of herbs. This vineyard is characterized by a more creamy and silky taste coupled with a fun and vibrant saltiness. Serve with roast meat, aged cheeses and pasta. Serving temperature from 16° to 18°C. "Aromas of underbrush, leather, baked plum and camphor meld together on this full-boded red. On the fleshy, already approachable palate, enveloping, fine-grained tannins surround raspberry jam, vanilla, tobacco and licorice. Tangy acidity keeps it balanced. Drink 2023–2028." - 95 points, Wine Enthusiast "A focused, polished red with dark-berry, cherry, walnut and dried-flower aromas and flavors. Medium to full body and firm, caressing tannins. Lovely finesse and polish to this. Dusty texture. Needs a year or two to soften, but already pretty. Better after 2022." - 93 points, James Suckling

Handpicked Collection Chardonnay 2016

Mornington Peninsula, Australia Opening with stone fruit and floral aromas with bright citrus notes, this wine has layers of fruit flavour and creamy complexity derived from 11 months aging on lees in barrel. Vintage 2016 was marked by warm and dry conditions and the Mornington Peninsula harvest was one of the earliest on record. It arrived in a hurry too and many vignerons were being picked in early February. The resulting wines have excellent flavour and weight and tend to be earlier drinking styles.

Chateau Saint-Pierre Esprit de Saint-Pierre 2016

Château Saint Pierre, a discreet but excellent Grand Cru Classé of Saint Julien owned by Henri Martin’s family. A fantastic history! Created in the 17th century, Château Saint Pierre was divided and dispersed due to several successions, and then was restored as originally in 1982 by Henri Martin. The second wine, Esprit de Saint Pierre is vinified with the same attention as the one paid to the “Grand Vin”. Only 17 hectares of vineyard Château Saint Pierre have always been the smallest Cru Classé in the appellation which leads to limited quantities. A good ability to age as most Saint Julien wines thanks to Cabernet Sauvignon that is giving its best on that gravels terroir in the heart of the Saint Julien village. A very bright and fresh fruit expression Esprit is produced from the young vines of the Grand Cru Classé vineyard. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon , 22% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc

Vibrant, juicy red raspberry and black cherry unfurl on the palate, accented by the historic vineyard’s signature notes of earth and spice. The 2016 vintage, boasting stunning concentration and dazzling acidity, is gorgeous now and will age beautifully for another six to seven years. The wine was aged in a combination of French oak barrels (48% new) and American oak barrels (19% new) for a total of 15 months. Varietal: 100% Zinfandel "Full-bodied, dense and layered with amazing fruit. Chocolate, too. Heady and wild. From ancient vines planted in the late 1800s. I love this for its history and reality. Chateau de Pommard Clos Marey – Monge “Simone” 2016

Nestled at the foot of the Château de Pommard, Simone is a 0.53 hectares plot of remarkable terroir. The delicacy and intensity of a red wine strongly depends on the quality of the internal surface of clay contained in the soil. The higher the density, the more a vineyard can produce grand cuvées. In 2009, Claude et Lydia Bourguignon, both agronomists and founders of the Microbiological Laboratory for Soils, conducted a thorough study on the Clos Marey-Monge and the Simone plot. What they found exceeded every expectation. With an internal surface of clay beyond 730 square meters per gram, Simone is close to the world record. With only 1,800 bottles of this intense, rich and complex Pinot Noir—our rarest cuvée, produced in the most generous years, Simone is available by allocation only. Powerful and delicate, our Simone 2017 shows a deep, dark and bright ruby colour with purple accents. The nose first reveals wild aromas of venison, underwood and elderberry, followed by notes of red roses, dry flowers and sweet spices. The palate is fresh, with a firm yet velvety tannic structure. With a long, vibrant and salty finale, this Pinot Noir shows an impressive depth that will still be there in 30 years from now. For sales inquiry please contact
