Podere Le Ripi Lupi e Sirene Riserva 2018

$180.00
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG A bright delicate ruby red, that offers the typical transparency of Brunello. At the nose, it expresses a fine bouquet, where small red fruits are surrounded by earthy and iron notes. In the mouth, it offers purity and energy without it being excessive. A rich and linear body, so fluent and polished that will capture the total attention of all of your senses for a very long time. Food Pairing: Serve with roasted meat, aged cheese, pizza, pasta, casseroles and grilled dishes. Recommended Serving Temperature: from 16° to 18°C. Ageing: 24 months aging in oak barrels and minimum aging of 18 months in cement vats Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese "An enticing blend of dusty rose, cinnamon and clove gives way to lifting traces of mint and dried strawberries as the sweetly spiced 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Lupi e Sirene blossoms in the glass. This is pure elegance, with velvety textures guided by fresh acidity and polished red and blue fruits complicated by a savory herbal thrust toward the close. The balance here is otherworldly. The 2018 finishes with unexpected vibrancy despite a web of fine tannins that grumble on as licorice notes slowly fade. Packed full of character and holding its power in reserve, the 2018 is a textural thrill ride. This is on a beautiful, yet slow, path to maturity." - VINOUS

Podere Le Ripi Cielo d’Ulisse 2019

$119.00

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG

Bright ruby with lighter shadows, flavors are quite complex and the progression of different fragrances is endless, beginning with smaller black and red fruits, all surrounded by a hidden scent of blackberries and brackish water. Our vineyards on the western slopes are surrounded by a fresh forest and very close to the Ombrone river. This means that they can handle well warmer seasons. This is why the wine was able to maintain a nice dynamic taste, light without it being too sweet. The structure and texture of it are making us hope for great aging potential. "The Brunello di Montalcino Cielo d'Ulisse 2019 is dark and intense, enticing with exotic spices, mandarin zest, cedar shavings and rum-soaked cherries. It is cool and racy in style, with crisp wild berries supported by lively acidity. Violet, floral notes arch across the palate. The momentum remains even as crisp tannins assault the senses, leaving a stain of tart cranberry and orange that slowly fades. I expect that three to five years of ageing will reveal a Brunello of boundless energy. The Cielo d'Ulisse is a single-vineyard wine that comes from vineyards in the extreme south-west of Montalcino." - VINOUS

Medium to full body with firm and velvety tannins that are polished and impressive. Fresh fruit at the end. Serious structure and brightness." - 95 points, James Suckling "The nose is dense and powerful, exhibiting lush black fruits and chocolate, and it became more perfumed with aeration. The attack is zesty and vigorous, spicy and assertive, but there's no excessive extraction and the tannins are polished. Despite a hint of tar and liquorice, the black fruits dominate. Well balanced, with both grip and texture, and a very long finish, this will age well." - 95 points, Decanter
