CHARDONNAY | 2023 CASABLANCA VALLEY BRIGHT • LUSCIOUS • SMOOTH This Chardonnay seduces with its fresh and expressive aromas of pear , pineapple , quince, nectarine , zesty lemon and intertwined with notes of toasted oak. A vibrant purity of fruit, a beautiful texture and a good length on the palate give the wine a pleasant balance. This vintage in Casablanca presented good conditions starting in spring, setting us up for excellent flowering and fruit set. Harvest began the last week of February, which was slightly delayed from what we had planned. However, things sped up and we had a very good ripening curve, especially at the end of the season. This year, the first varieties to be harvested were Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, having received very good temperatures from October onwards. This Chardonnay is silky and mineral and is without a doubt an elegant and expressive wine. Bright ruby with lighter shadows, flavors are quite complex and the progression of different fragrances is endless, beginning with smaller black and red fruits, all surrounded by a hidden scent of blackberries and brackish water. Our vineyards on the western slopes are surrounded by a fresh forest and very close to the Ombrone river. This means that they can handle well warmer seasons. This is why the wine was able to maintain a nice dynamic taste, light without it being too sweet. The structure and texture of it are making us hope for great aging potential. "The Brunello di Montalcino Cielo d'Ulisse 2019 is dark and intense, enticing with exotic spices, mandarin zest, cedar shavings and rum-soaked cherries. It is cool and racy in style, with crisp wild berries supported by lively acidity. Violet, floral notes arch across the palate. The momentum remains even as crisp tannins assault the senses, leaving a stain of tart cranberry and orange that slowly fades. I expect that three to five years of ageing will reveal a Brunello of boundless energy.
