Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino Riserva Venaria Reale

$96.00
RISERVA LA VENARIA REALE
Riserva La Venaria Reale is the vermouth created by Cocchi to establish a milestone in the premium Vermouths category. It is a vermouth in the style of the former kingdom of Piemonte, result of an unique partnership with Reggia di Venaria and only produced in two very small batches. Recipe, selection of botanicals, long maturation: every element has been carefully reasoned and selected for historical and geographical consistency. Cocchi Vermouth Riserva La Venaria Reale has, in fact, a strong local identity ā€“ herbs from the Alps ā€“ and historical identity, recalling the essential role played by the House of Savoy in the diffusion of the modern Vermouth. botanical-library
CHARACTERISTICS
The peculiar style of Cocchi Vermouths makes them identifiable for their strong personality, for the intensity of their floral freshness and spicy fragrances and for their richness of flavors. The Cocchi Riserva is the culmination of this style that emphasizes the richness and aromatic density of spices with a six months refinement in the bottle. ā€œReserveā€ does not mean aging in barrels, which would affect the complex aromatic balance in favor of oxidation and tannin components, but the valorization of the formula and the savoir faire in production. As in Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino, the wine is aromatized with a formula particularity rich in Artemisia, Rhubarb, Alpine herbs and a touch of Piedmontese mint. This composition accentuates the pleasant balsamic effect and gives a surprising freshness, to the point that this product could also be perfectly mixed with aged Rye of Bourbon.
HOW TO DRINK
Dark amber in color but without caramel in its formula, Cocchi Riserva La Venaria Reale is sweet enoght to be enjoyed pure with ice and lemon peel, or by itself as a digestive.

Cockburn’s 2015 Late Bottle Vintage

$55.00
Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Ports are wines of a single very good year that age in large oak vats between four and six years, until they reach an ideal level of maturity. LBVs are then bottled, ready to be enjoyed without the need for decanting as the natural sediment is left behind in the vat. They are rich, full-bodied wines with a smooth texture, mellowed over time by the wood ageing. This Late Bottled Vintage Port is sourced from the same vineyards that produce Cockburnā€™s famed Vintage Ports, namely the companyā€™s own Quinta dos Canais and Quinta do Vale Coelho properties, both located in the remote Douro Superior subregion. Deep crimson centre with an intense garnet rim. The very high quality of both the Touriga Franca and the Touriga Nacional in 2015 sings through the attractive floral aromas, where a rock rose fragrance is particularly evident. The wine is simultaneously full and smooth on the palate, with typical red fruit flavours ranging from raspberry and strawberry to red cherry. There is a fine, peppery spice element on the finish, which shows Cockburnā€™s trademark grip. This wine is fully mature and ready for pouring as it has been bottled free of sediment. Late Bottled Vintages, as the term implies, are bottled later than classic Vintage Ports (the latter after two years). Cockburnā€™s Late Bottled Vintage can be enjoyed anytime and pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate desserts as well as semi-cured and cured cheeses like Cheddar and Manchego. In warm weather, try serving the wine lightly chilled, this will enhance the aromas and flavours. Once open, the wine will keep in good condition for several weeks.

Kokuryu Daiginjo Ryu 1800ml

$242.00
After the founder returned from France, he applied wine aging to sake and released it in 1975. At the time, it was the most expensive sake in Japan, which was a turning point for the brewery. It was also the first in the industry to use the now-common expression "Daiginjoā€. At that time, a label with a dragon stamped in gold foil was used on the sake bag used to press the sake. THis Daiginjo is fruity and soft with the notes of apple, peach, melon and strawberry. Fermented at low temperature, it is mellow with pleasant acidity and umami. Mildly dry and crisp, it is easy-drinking and delicious. REMARKS: The sake has been pasteurized, so it can be delivered at room temperature. However, cold temperature is suggested for long-term storage. Recommended way to drink: 5Ā°C to 10Ā°C Tasting Notes: Well-rounded, gently aromatic and surprisingly incisive.
