Cocchi Americano is an aromatized wine created in 1891 by Giulio Cocchi and since then produced without interruption according to the original recipe.
The name āAmericanoā is both due to the alcohol made bitter (āamaricatoā) by the addition of herbs and spices and to the American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda.
Produced according to Giulio Cocchi original recipe, Cocchi Americano is recognized in Asti as the aperitif par excellence ā a real piece of history of our town.
On its label the original futurist rooster designed in the 30ās and representing his aperitif function (āit awakes the appetiteā) as well as one of the symbols of the town of Asti.
During its history, Cocchi has produced some variants to its Aperitivo Americano. The most recent is Cocchi Rosa produced with a base of red wines of Piedmont to which herbs and spices extracts are added, in particular gentian, cinchona, citrus zests and rose petals.

- Francesco Illy
Very deep red with purple shadows, a large bouquet of black fruits, forest floor, pinewood with a hint of white rose and jasmine. A distinctive texture of well-bounds tannins paired with a great minerality; a slight bitterness develops as an after-taste. Serve with roast meat, aged cheeses, and pasta. Serving temperature from 16Ā° to 18Ā°C.
Grape variety: 95% Syrah, 5% Sangiovese
"Lots of bright, very ripe red-berry character to this medium-bodied red with a light but firm tannin framework to the palate. But the fresh fruit pushes through to the end. Turns savory just at the end. Needs a year for better overall integration. Try from 2022." - 92 points, James Suckling
Luce 2019
TUSCAN TRADITION
2019: a balanced and late vintage. A cold and sunny winter was followed by a spring characterized by low average temperatures and heavy rainfall, which contributed to the creation of important water reserves in the soil. The reduced sunlight coupled with the heavy rainfall resulted in a slight delay of about ten days in the vegetative cycle of the grapevines. The flowering phase took place in early June, after which the growing season continued regularly with a hot summer free of excessive temperatures and some rainfall occurring between late July and early August, which supported a vigorous and efficient growth of the leaves. The mild temperatures in September and the good water reserves supported a slow and regular ripening of the grapes, which resulted in perfectly ripe, highly intense tannins rich in aromatic freshness. The harvest began with a sunny climate on September 12 with the first Merlot grapes, continued with Sangiovese in late September and early October. The wines are structured showing balance, vigor and great aging potential. Luce 2019 has an intense ruby red color. The nose is striking with its floral hints of violet and rose accompanied by red fruits such as raspberries and sweet spices. In the mouth, the wine is balanced and elegant with an almost creamy texture supported by silky and well-integrated tannins. Spicy notes accompany the persistent finish. Food Pairing: Beef, Lamb, Veal, Poultry, Cured MeatCocchi Americano Rosa
COCCHI ROSA
CHARACTERISTICS
Cocchi Rosa name reminds us that itās produced with red wines, from which it derives its colour and wild rose notes. Refined with natural extracts of flowers and spices, in particular gentian, cinchona and citrus as per the Americano Bianco but with the addition of saffron, vanilla and rose petals. Its beautiful red colour is completely natural and derives from the wine.HOW TO DRINK IT
The classic version foresees a cocktail glass with ice cubes, a spray of soda and a zest of rose grapefruit. Soda can be pleasantly replaced with ginger beer, lemon soda and tonic water. In its spritz version, Cocchi Rosa is mixed with Brachetto wine and a zest of rose grapefruit or lemon. Garnish it with rosemary. The combination with spirits such as gin, vodka and mescal is particularly positive. Cocchi Rosa is a perfect ingredient for the new trend of ālow octaneā cocktails, with a low alcohol content.TECHNICAL INFO

Arnaldo Rivera Barolo DOCG Rocche di Castiglione 2018
Medium-intense ruby red colour. Complex and elegant nose. Notes of ripe red fruit (cherry, red berries) floral (rose petals with a hint of chamomile) and mineral nuances. Arnaldo Rivera Barolo DOCG Ravera 2018
The nose is intensely smoky, with raspberry and strawberry aromas. The calcareous white soils produce beautiful fruit aromatics, whilst the due-south sun-facing aspect add considerable depth to the fruit and ripeness to the firm tannins. Directness of fruit is also brought forward by a degree less oak than their other Cru wines, with some smaller format wood -- but none of it new. It's sleek and stylish, a lifted wine that's taut and spicy with fine-grained tannins. There's tension and persistence here, with a long and elegant finish. A long and profound Barolo to approach now or cellar a good while, the Ravera is a classic.
"Quite a spicy nose, together with plum, red-tile and deeper, earthy notes. Medium-bodied with firm tannins that feel a little dry, at least for now. But thereās very good concentration of fruit. The tannins should sink better into the wine with time. Structured. Try from 2024." - 93 points, James Suckling
