Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin
An award-winning range of products from the 200 year old Avadis Distillery, infused with Riesling from the 275 year old Zilliken winery; Ferdinand’s owes its name to the Prussian District Forester, Ferdinand Geltz, who also co-founded the VDP Mosel Saar Ruwer Zilliken estate, one of Germany’s finest vineyards.
Carefully hand-picked Riesling grapes from the steep shale slopes of the Zilliken estate on the grand Saarburger Rausch site make our gin a unique taste experience.
Pot still production in small batches. The raw distillate produced from their own grain is distilled several times to form the basis for a selection of 34 hand-picked herbs, spices and fruits, which are carefully macerated to produce an eau-de-vie. The addtional use of a steam infusion of freshly harvested herbs adds unique fresh floral notes to their gin, which is rounded off with a precise measure of Schiefer Riesling. Having been left to rest for a period of 4 weeks in stoneware, Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin is set to a drinking strength of 44% abv using deminerlised water, then finally bottled.

Ferdinand’s Saar Quince
Master Distiller Andreas Vallendar combines carefully hand-picked Riesling grapes from the Zilliken estate and over 30 delicately balanced botanicals from the vineyards and our own cultivation.
Our Saar Quince is infused with 2011er Rausch Kabinett, which in 2013 was awarded 92 points by Gault Millau and was distinguished as the best cabinet wine of the year. The Royal Prussian District Forester Ferdinand Geltz not only gave his name to this Riesling-infused Saar Dry Gin but he was also the historical co-founder of the VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer growers' group.
This golden Quince from the Saar symbolises the perfect balance between sweet, sour and bitter.
Ferdinand’s White Vermouth
The world’s first vintage vermouth with riesling of a great VDP-site.
The large steep south-facing slope of the Saarburger Rausch, its rough Devonian shale soil and the cool climate of the Saar form the perfect basis for the first Riesling Vermouth in the world. The minerality and fruitiness of the Saar Riesling, the bitterness of the wormwood and the floral, spicy aromas of the regional herbs and flowers give this batch produced Vermouth wine from the Saar valley its unique lightness and elegance.
Ferdinand’s White Riesling Vermouth is carefully aged in Mosel Fuder casks, neutral German 1000 litres oak barrels, which ensures the perfect balance between the acidity and fruitiness of the Riesling and the vineyard’s botanicals. Besides homegrown wormwood, lovage and vineyard onion we use the botanicals which form the essential part of Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin, to retain the distinctive character of the beautiful Saar region. Grand Cru Riesling wine is infused with cold macerated botanicals, sweetened by the residual sugar of the wine and rectified concentrated grapes.

Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin Cask Strength
Without deviating from the fruity and floral character of the signature Dry Gin, Ferdinand’s Cask Strength is bottled at a devilish 66.6% abv.
This incredibly special bottling gives the perfect combination of potency and flavour, making it a must-stock item for the World’s best bartenders.
Notes of juniper, lemon thyme and lavender predominate. The high alcohol content wonderfully emphasizes these aromas and gives extra bite to a Dry Martini.
Starward Dolce
Dolce, a single, limited release, is a melding of juicy wine and oak characters with a flourish of sweet ‘Sicilian’ notes; marshmallow and cola. A twice distilled single malt spirit. Made with Australian barley and brewers' yeast for extra flavour. This Single Malt Australian Whisky was matured in Australian red wine barrels and then finished in barrels that held an Australian interpretation of a Sicilian Dessert Wine.
It is the newest release from the Starward Projects, a program where distillers get to experiment with different whiskies and create flavour forward and unique expressions. That is why Dolce is unlike any released before. Intriguing marshmallow and cola characters melding with the Starward stamp of red wine barrel maturation, it is an embodiment of the Italian word for sweet, Dolce. This one's a stunning straight sipper, especially with a cheeseboard, after dinner or just as your dessert!
Nose: Dried fruits, toasted marshmallows, and marzipan.
Palate: Initial sweetness on the front palate, rich dried fruits, brown sugar, cola and toasted marshmallows.
Finish: Palate is viscous, caramelised but enough tannin leaving a well-balance finish.

Starward Sticky Toffee Apple
Starward's Sticky Toffee Apple whisky is the latest release from our Small Batch program where our distillers source unique barrels or trial something new. Our distillers sourced Apple Brandy barrels from the United States and finished our red wine matured, single malt whisky in these barrels for three years. These barrels worked hard in Melbourne's 'four seasons in one day', which allowed the delicious liquid to achieve the full orchard and oak experience. This resulted in our luscious Sticky Toffee Apple whisky which is bound to please every crowd; whisky lover or not.
Nose: Floral notes of apple blossom and tropical fruits followed by vanilla and toffee apple.
Palate: Ripe orchard fruits and almonds give way to luscious stewed apples and all spice. Medium to long finish of rich fruit and cinnamon sugar.

Starward Ginger Beer Cask #7
Starward Ginger Beer Cask is back, our most popular and sought after Starward Project to date. Now in its sixth release, this delicious single malt whisky is more expressive than ever and the team’s most experimental to date. The ginger beer recipe is a closely guarded secret by the distillery production team but includes huge amounts of ginger, lemongrass and citrus peel. The ginger beer was brewed in-house and aged in EX Starward whisky barrels for 6 months before being disgorged. Our red wine and Apera casks were blended together before being finished in the ginger beer casks for over a further 6 months and bottled. Loaded with citrus peel and spicy ginger, it’s a zesty little number with aromas of dark chocolate and orange, with a palate of fiery ginger, fresh vanilla, and pineapple.
Nose: Ginger, orange and dark chocolate.
Palate: Strong spicy ginger, fresh vanilla and pineapple, balanced by sweet raisins and fig.
Finish: A big, warming mouthfeel with candied ginger and citrus.
Black Rumiko
High-quality coffee beans (Fuji Coffee Co., Ltd., Tsu City, Mie Prefecture) are soaked in pure rice sake and aged.
