Veramonte Carmenere 2019

$33.90
CARMƉNƈRE | 2019 Colchagua Valley Organic Wine COMPOSITION 100% CarmĆ©nĆØre WINEMAKERā€™S NOTES After destemming, the grapes are cold macerated for five days in open top stainless-steel tanks and fermented with native yeasts. After primary fermentation, the wine is macerated with its skin for another ten days to achieve greater smoothness and intensity of flavors. Finally, the wine is racked to neutral oak barrels and aged for 8 months. 2019 VINTAGE A good harvest in the Colchagua Valley, with favorable weather conditions that, despite the scarcity of precipitation, gave us a good ripening curve. Harvest began during the projected timeframe and gave us intense fruit with great balance between the acidity and the tannins. It gave us a fresh carmĆ©nĆØre, with structure and a smooth finish. Food Pairing: Beef, Pasta, Lamb, Poultry

Veramonte Rose 2019

$33.90
ROSƉ SYRAH | 2019 Casablanca Valley Organic Wine COMPOSITION 100% Syrah WINEMAKERā€™S NOTES The grapes are harvested in the early morning to keep them bright and fresh. The fruit goes in whole cluster into the press and is then racked off to stainless steel tanks for cold fermentation before it is bottled. 2019 VINTAGE An excellent harvest in the Casablanca Valley. The moderate temperatures during spring, without significant rains, allowed for good bud break and flowering. During summer there were no large diurnal temperatures, benefitting the ripening curve and helping maintain the freshness of the fruit in this zone. Harvest was pushed up by 10 days with respect to last year, and with lower yields that produced intense aromatics and flavors, producing fresh, intense wines with balanced acidity and a long finish. "Delightful red cherries and strawberries. Subtle and dry with light mineral character on the palate. Drink now. Screw cap." - 90 points, James Suckling

Handpicked Regional Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2019

$26.40
Tasting Notes
  • A mouth-watering combination of juicy fruits, passionfruit, bright acidity and herbal lift. Pure Marlborough.
Season
  • It was a warm and dry season in Marlborough with low yields as a result of unsettled weather around flowering in spring coupled with very dry weather after Christmas. There are advantages to such a season ā€“ low disease pressure and excellent fruit intensity among them.
Winemaking
  • This wine is made to preserve and highlight its fresh fruit flavours and refreshing acidity. The fruit is pressed to a temperature-controlled stainless-steel tank and the juice is vinified at low temperatures over a long fermentation. It is bottled within months of harvest and is best enjoyed when youthful and fresh.
Region
  • This wine is from select vineyards in Marlborough, where warm daytime temperatures, high sunshine hours, low rainfall and cool nights encourage the development of the intense aromas and flavours that are the hallmark of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine region is centred on two river valleys in the north east of New Zealandā€™s South Island ā€“ the Wairau River and the Awatere River valleys. Soils are alluvial and free draining silty shingles intermingled with stones and rocks. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is an internationally recognised wine style and accounts for about two thirds of the total vineyard in New Zealand, more than 70% of the countryā€™s wine production and about 85% of its wine exports.
Food Match
  • Green salads, Asian-style salads, and slaws, goats' cheese, fried calamari seasoned with pepper or chilli.
Wine Style
  • Crisp & Refreshing
