Woodford Reserve, the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby, is honoring “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” with the release of its 2020 commemorative Derby bottle.It features the work of Louisville artist Richard Sullivan, a former Atlanta Braves baseball player. Sullivan’s stunning watercolor image is of thoroughbreds as they thunder toward the finish line, with the famed Twin Spires of Churchill Downs in the background.
TASTING NOTES
- Colour: Clean, brilliant honey amber.
- Nose: Heavy with rich dried fruit, hints of mint and oranges covered with a dusting of cocoa. Faint vanilla and tobacco spice.
- Taste: Rich, chewy, rounded and smooth, with complex citrus, cinnamon and cocoa. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound.
- Finish: Silky smooth, almost creamy at first with a long, warm satisfying tail.

This proprietary process doubles the barrel’s surface, exposing the whiskey to unprecedented levels of toasted oak during the maturation process. Before bottling, each drop is delicately balanced for a smooth, refined character.
TASTING NOTES
- Nose: Soft honey, fresh apples and a bold oak note at the centre.
- Taste: Yummy butterscotch notes which turn into yummier caramel notes, rich and warm. Hints of orange zest and a subtle smokiness.
- Finish: Packed with vanilla and smooth as Sinatra's voice.

March 2, 2021 – Louisville, KY – Woodford Reserve, the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby, is honoring “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” with the release of its 2021 commemorative Derby bottle.
It features the artwork of Louisville resident Richard Sullivan, a former professional baseball player. Sullivan’s stunning watercolor is of thoroughbreds as they thunder down the stretch. It was designed as a complement to last year’s Derby bottle artwork, which Sullivan also created.

Golden colour with deep amber highlights. The nose gives lovely aromas of subtly spiced wood, brioche cake and cinnamon. In the mouth, there is a harmonious association of fruit and wood aromas. Its delicate finish gradually ends on notes of fruit jellies and spices.
Cocktail Idea - French Manhattan:
- 3cl ABK6 VSOP
- 1 splash of triple sec liqueur
- 1.5cl of dry Vermouth
- Crushed ice
- Mix together with a shaker
- Serve with a cherry previously macerated in the VSOP
