Beronia 198 Barricas 2011
The Tempranillo (96%), Graciano (3%) and Mazuelo (1%) grapes were cold-macerated for several days prior to alcoholic fermentation, which was kept at below 26ºC, with regular pumping over. Next, the Beronia 198 Barricas Reserva Especial 2011 began its ageing process, in mixed oak barrels made of American oak staves and French oak ends, where it remained for 24 months before finally being bottled and continuing to age for at least a further 24 months.
Beronia 198 Barricas Reserva Especial 2011 is a very deep, intense garnet colour. On the nose it displays notes of ripe fruit – prunes, dried apricot – with a touch of roasted coffee at the end. Hints of spice such as white pepper come through next together with nutty aromas (almond) and balsamic notes that add freshness. Fresh fruit such as cranberry dominates on the palate, followed by notes of chocolate and cocoa that build up to a sensation of sweetness on the palate. The tannins are ripe and the wine is long and well balanced.
A perfect accompaniment to roast meat, grilled cutlets, cured Ibérico meats and mature cheese. Recommended consumption from now until 2026.SKU: BRN06-1100750-RD
