Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin

Craft Gin
$15.00
An award winning range of products from the 200 year old Avadis Distillery, infused with Riesling from the 275 year old Zilliken winery; Ferdinand’s owes its name to the Prussian District Forester, Ferdinand Geltz, who also co-founded the VDP Mosel Saar Ruwer Zilliken estate, one of Germany’s finest vineyards. Carefully hand-picked Riesling grapes from the steep shale slopes of the Zilliken estate on the grand Saarburger Rausch site make our gin a unique taste experience. Pot still production in small batches. The raw distillate produced from their own grain is distilled several times to form the basis for a selection of 34 hand-picked herbs, spices and fruits, which are carefully macerated to produce an eau-de-vie. The addtional use of a steam infusion of freshly harvested herbs, adds unique fresh floral notes to their gin, which is rounded off with a precise measure of Schiefer Riesling. Having been left to rest for a period of 4 weeks in stoneware, Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin is set to a drinking strength of 44% abv using deminerlised water, then finally bottled.
  • Ingredients : 34 regional botanicals (thyme, sloe, rose hip), pot still distilled, proprietary grain spirit made from a blend of wheat, rye and spelt, Riesling wine infused.
  • Tasting Note : Aromas of pine and juniper, pungent lavender, lemongrass, lemon meringue, vanilla and coriander

MOM Rocks

Craft Gin
$86.00
Always wear your invisible crown with MOM, the Queen of the Gins. With a bottle design reminiscent of the London Punk scene in the 1970's, this gin captures the essence of the time in a classic London Dry recipe, but with a difference. It's juniper forward as you would expect, but with a smoothness on the palate and an unexpected spicy coriander finish. Fragrant and herbaceous with notes of juniper, coriander and liquorice, lime zest and a pinch of black peppercorn.

Colombian Ortodoxy

Craft Gin
$98.00
Ortodoxy is based on the formula of Dario Parra, former president of the company, and lover of gin. After his many extended visits to the UK and of course, enjoying what was for him God’s drink, he returned to Colombia determined to create a Colombian Gin. Back home he studied several formulas, based on his experience, and finally created Ortodoxy Gin. For years, the Ortodoxy was produced only for his own personal consumption, never dreaming that his invention could one day become an internationally sold gin. The formula of berries, botanicals, peels, roots, and spices gives the Ortodoxy gin a unique taste profile. Colour: In the glass, Ortodoxy Gin is full of light and body, proof of its quality and clarity. Aroma: On the nose it displays a balance of the bitterness of the roots, the freshness of the botanicals, the sweet and sour of berries and peels, and the warmth of the spices. The initial aroma is of the juniper and the angelica combined with mint, lemon and pepper. The secondary aromas of cinnamon, blueberry, and ginger merge to create a classic dry gin. Palate: In the mouth it is flavourful and smooth, along with the astringency, sweet and sour of classic gin. At 43% alcohol, this gin mixes well with a wide range of tonics.

The London N°1 Sherry Cask

Craft Gin
$138.00
González Byass has launched a limited-edition Sherry-cask-aged London No.1 gin, with only 5,000 bottles due to be released each year. The London No.1 is matured for three months in Jerez in Sherry casks that have been used to age fino brand Tío Pepe. The casks give the gin a pale golden colour, with “hints of oak and Sherry notes mixing with juniper”. The gin itself is made in London, with botanicals including lemon peel, liquorice and bergamot. It will be launched in 30 markets internationally as well as in bars worldwide. The London Nº1 Sherry Cask, is the product obtained by the distillation in copper stills of a maceration of its 12 botanicals in alcohol of grain and later aging in American oak casks that have previously contained wine from Jerez (Tío Pepe). This aging gives it a pale-yellow color due to the extraction of oak wood components. The gin goes through an aging process of 3 months in these sherry casks that have previously contained Tío Pepe for more than 10 years. It has an alcohol content of 43 degrees which is the most suitable for the best assembly of each and every one of the aromatic characters of the gin and wood. Tasting Notes: The London Nº1 Sherry Cask has a pleasant, fragrant aroma with notes of juniper berries and mix of botanicals, enhanced by a subtle touch of wood with vinous sensations. Smooth, elegant and complex on the palate, with well-integrated notes of alcohol and wood. Long and velvety finish.

Cocktail Ideas: The London Nº1 Gin ‘Zesty Pine’

  • 2 Large Ice Cubes
  • 75ml of The London Nº1 Sherry Cask Gin
  • 1 sprig of Fresh Rosemary
