Vineyard
The estate consists of 615 acres of land, 217 of which are planted to vine. Sangiovese is planted in the higher elevation parcels (up to 1500 feet), which are rich in sandstone and limestone, while the lower altitude clay plots are better suited to Merlot.
Winemaking
The Sangiovese is harvested during the first week of October. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 12 days, followed by 4 weeks of skin maceration. Aging occurs in Slavonian oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months.
Tasting Notes:
Luce Brunello shows an intense ruby red color. The nose is complex and fragrant, with notes of ripe red fruit, supported by pleasant sensations of blond tobacco and exotic spices. In the mouth, the wine is harmonious, rich and highly structured, with silky tannins that together with freshness give a very long persistence. A sophisticated and powerful wine.

Les Bouquinistes 2020 is a field blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc from our Calistoga, Napa Valley vineyards.
We produced just shy of 500 cases of this vintage.

Les Bouquinistes 2020 Chapter Six features Elizabeth Nyamayaro’s I Am A Girl From Africa. It is a remarkable story of what is possible when girls are given an equal right to quality education. When Elizabeth was only eight years old a severe drought decimated the crops in her agricultural village in Zimbabwe. After months of hunger and malnourishment, she found herself alone, face down under a tree in a parched field, too weak to move. Incredibly, a UN aid worker found her, gave her food, and saved her life. This was a transformative moment for Elizabeth; it inspired her to dedicate her life to uplifting her community, her continent and now the world. As Elizabeth grew into a teenager and then a young adult, attending school intermittently when she wasn’t needed to help “find money,” she never lost sight of this goal. She was grounded by the African concept of Ubuntu: I am because we are. And because we are, you are! Lively aromas of blackberry, blueberry and dried cherry intertwine with vanilla and cedar notes. A smooth silky texture with fine tannins and balance, providing a beautiful and lingering finish. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Primus vineyards are located on the third alluvial terrace of the Alto Maipo, at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The grapes are hand-picked, double sorted, fermented in open top tanks with native yeasts, and left on the skins after fermentation to gain structure and depth. The best lots of the vintage are selected, blended and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Bodega Contador Benjamin Romeo Coleccion No. 4 Garnacha de la Dehesa 2015
It is a single-varietal Garnacha aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. It has an intense garnet red color, in the nose it is complex with typical notes of the Garnacha variety, and in the mouth, it is balanced, fresh and fine. It goes well with many meat dishes, from roasted or grilled lamb, white meats with strong sauces, to aromatic and hearty meat stews and pork, lamb, duck, or pheasant stews.

It is made from the Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano grape varieties, aged for 30 months in French oak barrels and then remained in the bottle for 36 months before being marketed. On sight it has a ruby red color, on the nose it is elegant with notes of ripe fruit and toasted touches, and in the mouth, it is tasty, long, and persistent. Ideal to accompany roasted red and white meats, Iberian sausages, and risottos.

evolution. In the mouth it is powerful and well balanced in terms of maturity and freshness. Final is long and fresh. It is elegant. It promises long life.

Dark garnet with a lucid rim, the wine exhibits aromas of briar fruit, ripe blackberry and dark plum with a tinge of minerality and charred meat. Still massive through to the finish with soft drying tannins, the unique varietal characteristics of the blend clearly reveal themselves over time.
