The Château Malartic-Lagravière white is one of the must-try white wines of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the Graves subregion, south of Bordeaux. This property is one of the only few in Bordeaux to produce both colors classified Cru Classé. In 2018, Château Malartic-Lagravière profited from ideal climatic conditions to produce great wines. Even if the second part of the year was hot, the profile of the whites remains very aromatic, with lots of freshness.
The Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2018 is made from a blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon. The vines on which the grapes are grown are planted at a high density with an average of 10,000 feet per hectare, on a dry, clayey gravelly soil and a subsoil of shelled limestone veined with clay. The Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2018 is aged 55% in new oak barrels and 45% in barrels of one previous wine, with regular stirring.
