Chateau de Pommard Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2020
$485.00
“Such a lovely cassis and framboise nose that you’d need to have a problem with red or dry wine not to fall in love with this. Not one of the biggest 2020s in Burgundy, but the balance and texture of this are so beautiful. Such delicate sweetness and spice. Very long, structured yet silky finish. Drink or hold.” – 96 points, James Suckling
Food Pairing: Beef, Veal, Game (deer, venison), Poultry

ChĆ¢teau de Pommard is a winery in Pommard, Burgundy, France. Established in 1726, the property is known for its two ChĆ¢teaux, gardens, and its 20-hectare walled vineyard, Clos Marey-Monge. The ChĆ¢teaux, the vineyard and the winemaking facilities are operated and owned by Michael Baum, who purchased the estate in 2014. The winery produces "Clos" wines āPinot Noir produced from the fruit of Clos Marey-Monge and "Family" wines āGrand Cru, Premier Cru, Village and Bourgogne wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir appellations across the CĆ“te de Nuits and the CĆ“te de Beaune.
Just three kilometres south from Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, the ancient vineyard of Clos Marey-Monge sits close to the centre of the CĆ“te dāOr. At 20 hectares, ChĆ¢teau de Pommard is the largest private Clos in Burgundy. Itās a place where grand architecture and passionate winemaking converge among the vines.
With almost three centuries of wisdom that has come from respecting and protecting Clos Marey-Monge, Michael Baum, Emmanuel Sala and oenologist and agronomic specialist, Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne, are on a mission to protect the vineyard for another 300 years with Biodynamic viticulture.
