Kokuryu Kuzuryu Eto Junmai Daiginjo

$148.00
The Chinese zodiac sign for the year of 2022 is Tiger, which comes around once every 36 years and is said to be a year of strong luck. The tiger is known for its good luck, as it is said to "go a thousand miles and come back a thousand miles," meaning that what goes away will come back. To celebrate the start of the new year, we have bottled freshly pressed Junmai Daiginjo sake in a bottle with the Chinese zodiac sign written by the late Dr. Inamura Undo, who supported the Kokuryu Brewery since its early days of ginjo brewery.

Dassai Junmai Daiginjo 23

$130.90
To craft the ultimate Junmai-Daiginjo sake, we polished down Yamada-Nishiki rice to 23%. Delivering delicate floral aromas with a palate reminiscent of honey and an elegant lasting finish. Produced by Asahi Shuzo Brewery, Dassai 23 is a premium sake of junmai daiginjo type, which means that the rice used has been polished to more than 50% and no alcohol has been added. As its name suggests, this premium sake has a remaining grain percentage of 23% so that only the noblest part of the grain remains; the heart. Rich in fruity aromas of ripe fruit, apple and pear and with great finesse, Dassai 23 is an ideal introduction to traditional Japanese beverages and goes very well with raw or cooked foods such as red meats, cheeses and desserts. Sake or nihonshu is a Japanese alcoholic beverage of 14 to 17% by volume, made from a mixture of water, yeast and steamed rice, a small part of which has been inoculated with a microscopic fungus, the koji, to allow for better fermentation.

Opus One 2017

$655.00
Opus One was founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, legendary proprietor of ChĆ¢teau Mouton Rothschild, and renowned Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. By combining the great winemaking traditions and innovations of both families, the foundersā€™ singular goal was to create an exceptional wine in the heart of Napa Valley. Opus One, like any great work, arose out of passion. Dedicated to uncompromised quality, Opus Oneā€™s sole purpose is to express this vision and passionate spirit for generations to come. VINTAGE 2o17 The winter of 2017 ended a five-year drought with January recording the most rainfall in over 20 years. The abundant rainfall continued into March, causing a modest delay in budbreak, and pushing bloom back by two weeks. Increased soil moisture allowed for healthy vine growth and development. The summer, in turn, was warm and punctuated by occasional heat waves. Despite Mother Natureā€™s variability, favorable weather in August provided optimal conditions for fruit development and maturation. Superb flavors and excellent ripening led to an earlier than expected harvest, which commenced on the 5th of September. The Opus One 2017 offers a harmonious aromatic balance of rich dark fruit, stems of roses, and earthy forest floor. The juicy entry offers a round, silky mouthfeel with just enough acidity to complement the satin texture. This seductive wine shows flavors of black cassis, black cherry and a hint of cocoa powder. The fine-grained, plush tannins evolve into a long, supple finish. A supremely age-worthy wine, it will delight now and for many years to come. VARIETALS Cabernet Sauvignon 80%, Petit Verdot 9%, Cabernet Franc 5%, Merlot 5%, and Malbec 1% SKIN CONTACT 20 days BARREL AGING 17 months in new French oak

Richard G Peterson Pinot Noir 2019

$139.00
As history and legend purport, the Wrotham clone was discovered near Wrotham Village in southeast England; the cuttings were introduced there by the Romans some 2,000 years ago. The Wrotham clone produces a uniquely rich colour and a spicy character not often found in other Pinot Noir wines. In 1980, Dick Peterson brought the first and only Wrotham cuttings back to California and planted them in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA just south of Monterey Bay. This region boasts a cool climate and one of the longest growing seasons in California. Dick Peterson has been an innovator in the California wine industry since the 1960s. As a young man, he produced novel products such as the first wine cooler for Seagrams and Galloā€™s Hearty Burgundy. He was pivotal to the success of a portfolio of wineries, including Beaulieu Vineyards with Andre Tchelistcheff, the Monterey Vineyard, Atlas Peak Vineyards and Folie Ć  Deux Winery. Aged 14 months in burgundy oak barrels.

This is the only white wine produce by the winery ā€” the only white varietal we ever would choose to approach. We style our Sauvignon Blanc after some of the great white Bordeaux wines from the Pessac Leognan region, offering a flavor profile of pink grapefruit, stone fruits and bright minerality. The wine produce elements of honeydew melon, white peach, and nectarine, with underlying notes of fresh citrus bloom nuances. A weighty mouthfeel ushers in notes of pink grapefruit, Meyer lemon zest with bright acidity, minerality and tropical elements through to a long finish. $270.00
Lot No. 1 is something of a mosaic of iconic appellations and vineyards an assemblage of Napa Valleyā€™s best mountain, benchland and valley floor fruit. The 2017 vintage is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak, Howell Mountain, Stags Leap, Mount Veeder and other stellar sites throughout Napa Valley AVA. Drinkable now, but better in 2022." - 95 points, James Suckling "A rich, lush style, with creamed plum, blueberry and warmed blackberry compote flavors gliding along, laced with cocoa and warm earth notes.
