Beronia Reserva 2018

$58.00 $52.20

Beronia Reserva is made from a selection of the best grapes from the oldest Tempranillo (95%), Graciano (4%) and Mazuelo (1%) vineyards. After being cold macerated prior to fermentation then fermented at a controlled temperature of between 26 and 28°C with regular pumping over to extract the desired aromas and colour, the wine was left for 19 months in French and American oak barrels and French oak barrels used to store two different wines. As result, the wine developed at a measured, even pace. It then completed its ageing in bottle for at least 17 months prior to being released.

Beronia Reserva 2015 is a deep black cherry colour, clean and bright with a garnet rim. Attractive and appealing on the nose, it displays intense aromas of ripe fruit and herbs over a spicy background, along with distinct mineral notes and hints of tobacco leaf and white pepper that add complexity and youthfulness. On the palate, the most outstanding flavours are of fresh, acidic fruit over a sweet background of cacao and mint notes that make it quite appealing. With sweet, balanced tannins, Beronia Reserva is rounded, well-bodied, flavoursome and persistent whilst also displaying balanced acidity.

Perfect for drinking with roasts, char-grilled cutlets, Ibérico cured meats and mature cheese.

Recommended for drinking until 2027.

    Orin Swift Papillon 2017

    Wine, Red
    $154.00
A Bordeaux-style red wine from the Napa Valley, comprised of all five varietals , is hard to find. We’ve been lucky to source quality fruit from long time growers on both the valley floor and surrounding hillsides; and while finding Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec can be difficult, their contributions to the resulting wine make it worthwhile. A prime example of our house style—accessible, massive, and memorable—the bottle empties quickly (a slight disappointment when discovered) for the bottle weight suggests differently, and searching for another bottle ensues. Our good friend and fellow winemaker, Greg Gorman, photographed the label. Powerful aromatics escape the glass with rich notes of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, peppercorn and a touch of chaparral supported by a frame of sweet oak. Intensely layered and decadent on entry, the wine exudes characteristics of black plum, boysenberry, kirsch and dark chocolate with a silky soft yet weighty texture. A prolonged finish of Provençal lavender, fig leaf and ripe currants close out the wine.

    La Marca Prosecco

    Wine
    $38.00
Our delicate La Marca Prosecco has a pale, golden straw colour and sparkles with lively effervescence. Opening with aromas of fresh-picked citrus and honeysuckle blossoms, the crisp, clean palate brings fruity flavours of green apple, juicy peach and ripe lemon, framed by hints of minerality. The finish is light and refreshing with a tantalizing hint of sweetness. The grapes for La Marca Prosecco were selected with great care from small vineyards throughout the Prosecco DOC, from the Glera grape. La Marca Prosecco has the charm to stand alone as an aperitif, but it also has the body and the acidity to pair well with a range of foods, from seafood and mild cheeses to rich pasta dishes and decadent desserts. La Marca adds sparkle to bubbly brunch bites, like classic eggs benedict, chorizo chilaquiles or chicken and waffles. For a crisp and vibrant dinner party, pair Prosecco alongside fresh-caught crab or fish tacos with endive slaw, goat cheese flatbread pizza or roasted chicken with creamy lemon La Marca sauce.

    Primus Carménère 2017

    Wine
    $52.00
Apalta - Colchagua Valley, Chile Red fruit aromas, with cedar and boldo notes. On the palate it is fresh and fruity, with flavors of cherry and hints of pepper and rosemary. Silky, with velvety tannins and great mouthfeel. There was little rainfall during the season, concentrated in the winter months. Temperatures rose significantly near the end of spring, with record high temperatures, and the beginning of harvest was unusually early. The grapes were harvested with optimum ripeness, giving way to wines of great concentration and flavor intensity, and excellent balance between acidity and tannins.
