Handpicked Capella Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

$52.80
Mornington Peninsula, Australia The 2017 vintage on the Mornington Peninsula was a classic one in which overall mild and stable conditions produced superb quality fruit and wines of great balance, finesse and longevity. Dubbed by some a “Goldilocks” vintage, 2017 delivered just enough and not too much of everything. Vines ripened slowly, building great depth of flavour while retaining fine balance in sugar and acid. Harvest began in early-March, a little later than the long-term average, and somewhat of a relief after the record-early vintage of 2016. Fruit from select blocks at Capella Vineyard is handpicked, destemmed, and sorted by hand to ensure only the finest berries make it into this beautifully perfumed, supple and silky wine. The aromas are classic Pinot Noir – cherries, strawberries, and earthy spice - with the purity and perfume we have come to expect of Capella Vineyard. The palate combines power and grace with great texture and silky-smooth tannin. Recommended Serving Temperature: 15-17°C Food Pairing: Peking Duck, Roasted Quail, Mushroom Risotto

Louis M. Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

$72.00
Our 2017 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a boisterous wine with an assertive profile, offering ripe notes of black currant, plum, crushed fennel and cedar. Rich and rustic, this Cabernet features distinct brambly undertones and finishes memorably with structured, lingering tannins. Grapes were picked early in the morning to preserve maximum flavor en route to the winery. All lots were aged and evaluated separately, allowing us to craft a harmonious wine before marrying the final blend in barrel to finish aging. In total, the wine spent 17 months in a combination of French and American oak (29% new). Varietal: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Sirah "A firm, juicy red with blackberries, chocolate and light tobacco. Some vanilla. Medium to full body. Round tannins. Fruity and fresh. Podere Le Ripi Cielo d’Ulisse 2018

$98.00
Deep dark with lighter shadows, flavors are quite complex and the progression of different fragrances is endless, beginning with smaller black and red fruits, all surrounded by a hidden scent of blackberries and brackish water. Our vineyards on the western slopes are surrounded by a fresh forest and very close to the Ombrone river. This means that they can handle well warmer seasons, like 2018. This is why the wine was able to maintain a nice dynamic taste, light without it being too sweet. The structure and texture of it are making us hope for great aging potential.
