The limestone soil that cares for this vineyard has a chocolate colour, land with a lot of mineral content. Don Andrés worked it with mules for his boss from a young age and when the heirs decided to sell it, there was no choice, ‘Buy it my boy’. The high vineyard which stretches from El Bombón to the foothills of the sierra produces very special wines year after year, full of balance, freshness, tannin and minerality. Fermentation in oak vats. 18 months in new 100% French Oak barriques. 3,000 bottles produced. 100% Tempranillo. On the nose, balsamic and mineral aromas with chocolate and toasted notes. On the palate, volume, sweet tannin and long finish.

Colección Nº 1 comes from La Viña de Andrés, planted (Richter 110) in the La Liende district in 1985. Grafted the following year at the hands of Don Andrés, with the tempranillo variety sourced from an exhaustive stock of family vines. This collection springs from respect for the land and for its tradition, from start to finish. From the importance of classic viticulture practice and minimal yields. Fermentation in oak vats. 18 months cask ageing in new 100% French oak barriques. No fining. 3,000 bottles produced. 100% Tempranillo. On the nose, very ripe red fruit. On the palate, good volume, flavoursome and very fresh.

Contador 2015

The red flagship 2015 Contador was selected from vines over 60 years of age, and it fermented in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in new French oak barrels for 20 months. It feels like a great vintage for the top bottling, as it has enough ripeness and concentration but is also terribly elegant, floral and nuanced. 2015 was a warm and dry year with the risk of excessive wines, but this Contador is beautifully balanced and has a rare combination of concentration and lightness. There is a nice core of freshness that lifts the wine up and gives it length. 6,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2017. 100% Tempranillo
