Veramonte Chardonnay 2018

Veramonte

CHARDONNAY | 2018
Casablanca Valley
Sustainable Farmed Vineyards

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Grapes are harvested at first light and whole clusted pressed in order to obtain the structure provided by the stems. The juice sits for 24 hours and is then racked off. Part of the wine is barrel fermented in neutral oak with wild yeasts, and the rest in stainless steel tanks. Thirty percent of the wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation, enhancing the Chardonnay softness and creaminess without losing the freshness.

2018 VINTAGE
An extraordinary season, with significant rainfall in the winter, accumulating a record average of the last ten years in the Casablanca Valley. Temperatures were moderate during the whole season, giving way to a slow maturity curve, achieving very good quality physiological maturity. The grapes were harvested in optimum condition, with the maximum fruit expression of the Casablanca Valley, delivering fresh, intense and long wines.
