To honour The GlenDronach’s early whisky making heritage, Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie crafted The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated using the same principles laid down by our founder James Allardice almost two centuries ago. At this time, it was traditional practice in the Highlands to burn peat in the kiln towards the end of the barley malting, creating a rich and warm, earthy smoke. Interwoven with robust Highland characters, The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated is peated to those traditional levels and has all the full-bodied richness of The GlenDronach. Matured in the finest Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry and Port casks.
The expression is bottled at 48%, non-chill filtered and natural in colour.
The GlenDronach Parliament 21 Year Old honours the parliament of rooks which continue to guard our warehouses. Matured in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía in Spain, this full bodied, richly sherried Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky presents elegant and balanced layers of chocolate and spice carrying on into the long, lingering finish.
This expression was named the world’s best Highland Single Malt Whisky at the 2018 World Whisky Awards and is bottled at 48%, non-chill filtered and natural in colour.
TASTING NOTES
- Colour: Deep amber with a cherry wood sheen.
- Nose: A delicate mix of ripe autumnal fruits – notably blackberries and red plums. Rich Oloroso sherry and candied orange segments. Spiced oatmeal biscuits and toasted oak fragrances bring excellent weight and balance.
- Taste: Resolute flavours of fine Oloroso sherry and bitter chocolate sauce, which has been spread liberally over homemade plum pudding. This is all infused with fabulous spicy notes – cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Full-bodied with smooth tannins.
- Finish: Long and lingering.
- Colour: Vivid harvest gold.
- Nose: Highland toffee and treacle meld with dark honey and coal smoked barley.
- Taste: Sip burnt orange and treacle on a base of cloves and smoked bramble.
- Finish: Savour liquorice and dark fruit into the lingering rich, earthy finish.
- Food Pairing: Cheese (eg, Blue Cheese*), Appetizer, and snacks
*Because of the cheese’s creamy sweetness, which works perfectly to accentuate the pear notes and smoky flavour of the whisky. Together they tease out each other’s shades of spice, floral honey and barley sugar.

At The GlenDronach Distillery, we have carried forth the tradition of our founder James Allardice since 1826, maturing our whisky in the finest Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía.
We continue to work towards mastering the art of sherry cask maturation, and our Highland whiskies are recognized for their deep colour and rich flavour profiles, which range from sweet fruity flavours, from the Pedro Ximenez casks we select, to the dry and nutty notes, from superb Oloroso casks. Our well-kept secrets have been guarded for nearly 200 years by a parliament of rooks who love The GlenDronach so much they try to nest in the warehouses. The distillery folk believe as long as the rooks remain at the distillery, it will be good for the whisky.
As was the case in 1826, The GlenDronach Distillery patiently matures its single malt whisky in superior quality sherry casks. Our distilling methods may be old-fashioned, but we prefer to look on them as handcrafted techniques created through nearly 200 years of tradition.
From the germination of the barley to the flow of the purest middle cuts of distilled spirit, every step in The GlenDronach journey is taken with meticulous care and immaculate timing.
Our malt mill, glistening copper mash tun and traditional wooden washbacks form part of a vigorous but carefully attended process. Our elegant copper pot stills distil and re-distil the richest spirit which is then filled into the finest casks and left patiently maturing in our warehouses. Nearly 70% of the flavour in whisky is derived from the cask it has been matured in. Wood’s important, which is why we adopt a ‘no compromise’ approach when choosing our world-renowned sherry casks to enrich our whisky. Over the years of extended maturation, these carefully seasoned casks help create the unique richly sherried style that The GlenDronach is famous for.

Umiki Whisky
Inspired by Japan’s respect for nature and the ocean, we fused local ocean side malt whiskies with grain whiskies in reserve before blending with pure filtered ocean water and finishing the blend in Japanese pine barrels.

Ferdinand’s Saar Quince Miniature
Master Distiller Andreas Vallendar combines carefully hand-picked Riesling grapes from the Zilliken estate and over 30 delicately balanced botanicals from the vineyards and our own cultivation.
Our Saar Quince is infused with 2011er Rausch Kabinett, which in 2013 was awarded 92 points by Gault Millau and was distinguished as the best cabinet wine of the year. The Royal Prussian District Forester Ferdinand Geltz not only gave his name to this Riesling-infused Saar Dry Gin but he was also the historical co-founder of the VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer growers’ group.
This golden Quince from the Saar symbolises the perfect balance between sweet, sour, and bitter.

Aromatic to the nose with notes of buttery-vanillin oak flavours and exotic fruit (orange rind and honeyed grapefruit). On the palate, the wine is round, fleshy with wonderful minerality and again, delightful exotic fruit flavours. The new-oak flavours are present. Very nice balance between the oak, fruit and acidity. Excellent finish.
100% Sauvignon Blanc. Harvest is done 100% by hand. Following a skin-contact maceration, 75% of the juice is fermented in vats and 25% in oak-barrels. During this ageing period, “batonnage” is carried out. After blending and filtration, bottling is carried out in late spring following the harvest.
Mars Iwai Blended Whisky
One of the most important person whose name is Kiichiro Iwai. He is a pioneer of Japanese whisky. "IWAI TRADITION" is his traditional model for Mars Whisky. By contrast, Mars Whisky "IWAI" is more lightly taste. It is blended Japanese whisky to create woody flavor and lightly taste that bring out to the full of the gorgeous aroma imparted by storage in bourbon barrels and that can be savored freely at any time. It is a refreshing taste with a lingering.
Tasting Note:
Sweet with fruit flavors like pear, quince and hints of red fruits and vanilla.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye
Jack Daniel's Bonded Rye whiskey is Bottled-in-Bond, uniquely crafted rye grain bill, that opens with notes of dried fruit and lingering hints of toffee imparting a bold, complex and balanced taste with a rye spice finish.
The Bottled-In-Bond Act (1897) stipulates that the whiskey must be:
- From a single distillery.
- From one distilling season.
- Bottled at 100 proof.
- Aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years (seasons to mature).

Jack Daniel's Triple Mash is a blend of Bottled American Malt, Rye and Tennessee Whiskeys at 100 proof. It delivers notes of honey, malt and soft oak leading to a long lasting well rounded finish.

Togouchi Whisky Umeshu
Whisky Umeshu uses a plum wine made of Nanko-ume, considered the highest quality Japanese ume, blended with Togouchi whisky. The crisp taste makes you drink more without boring. A very rich plum taste with balanced sweet, followed by slightly sour, finished with a short aftertaste. Bright gold liquid with aromatic plum fragrance and slight aroma of whisky.
