The world’s first vintage vermouth with riesling of a great VDP-site.
The large steep south-facing slope of the Saarburger Rausch, its rough Devonian shale soil and the cool climate of the Saar form the perfect basis for the first Riesling Vermouth in the world. The minerality and fruitiness of the Saar Riesling, the bitterness of the wormwood and the floral, spicy aromas of the regional herbs and flowers give this batch produced Vermouth wine from the Saar valley its unique lightness and elegance.
Besides homegrown wormwood, lovage and vineyard onion we use the botanicals which form the essential part of Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin, to retain the distinctive character of the beautiful Saar region. At the heart of this Vermouth are regional red fruits like the Schönberger Plum, Cranberries and specially manufactured cherrywine of the danish variety Stevensbaer. The usage of immature green walnuts gives this vermouth a multilayerd and fascinating bitterness. Grand Cru Riesling wine is infused with cold macerated botanicals, sweetened by the residual sugar of the wine and rectified concentrated grapes. The natural color is produced purely by the red fruits. There is no caramelised sugar or sugar color added.
Ingredients: Botanicals among others Green Walnut, Cranberry, Stevensbaer Cherry, Schönberger Plum, Wormwood, Cinnamon, Fennel, Lemon, Coriander.
Tasting note: Ferdinand‘s Red Vermouth reveals itself as a relatively fruity and complex representative of its category. Green walnut gives it a special kind of bitterness and creates an extraordinary flavour in combination with native red fruits.
Perfect Serve: Manhattan, Negroni, Vermouth & Tonic, Red Vermouth & Soda

The Ferdinand’s Gin story began among the ancient vines in 2013.
Named after the first local Royal Prussian District Forester Forester, Ferdinand Geltz, the Ferdinand’s brand takes its inspiration from the bountiful terroir of the Saar region. A timeless design and exquisite attention to detail in the crafting of the liquid, build upon a historical legacy of fine wines from world‘s most famous Riesling wine region.

Born in Piedmont in the last century, it soon spread thanks to its taste, well balanced between bitter and sweet, and especially for the leading effect on the market of its name “Barolo”, that immediately positioned it among the noblest products compared to various other types of alcoholic drinks based on cinchona.
Inventor of this original recipe, Giulio Cocchi was also the protagonist of the diffusion of Barolo Chinato.
In Italy its consumption was encouraged by the fame it gained as therapeutic wine. A traditional remedy in Piedmont to cure many small sicknesses, especially in case of cooling. Drunk as a vin brulé, hot and invigorating, its antipyretic and digestive capacities were widely recognized. Serving it to the guests became a typical tradition of the farmers’ hospitality.
Over time, the use of this aromatized wine changed and today, in the general wake to recover traditions and naturality, it’s been rediscovered with new and interesting consumption styles.
CHARACTERISTICS
Barolo Chinato is a special wine produced with Barolo DOCG, aromatized with cinchona calisaya bark, rhubarb and gentian root and the precious cardamom seed whose active principles are extracted with a slow maceration at room temperature.
Characterized by balance and harmony in the perfume with an immediate pleasant taste and a pleasant aromatic persistence.
HOW TO DRINK IT
The occasions to appreciate Cocchi Barolo Chinato are diverse, with a particular success in the good restoration when served at environment temperature or as elegant end of the meal or even steam heated with orange zest. Almost a surprise then the recent discovery of Barolo Chinato as an “ideal liquid” to support and complete the persistent taste of the mostly cocoa rich chocolates.
Andrea Slitti, among the best maîtres chocolatiers, has produced an artisanal praline with Barolo Chinato. A top-of the-range product distributed by Giulio Cocchi to accompany the tasting and to show the successful marriage.

Riserva La Venaria Reale is the vermouth created by Cocchi to establish a milestone in the premium Vermouths category.
It is a vermouth in the style of the former kingdom of Piemonte, result of an unique partnership with Reggia di Venaria and only produced in two very small batches.
Recipe, selection of botanicals, long maturation: every element has been carefully reasoned and selected for historical and geographical consistency.
Cocchi Vermouth Riserva La Venaria Reale has, in fact, a strong local identity – herbs from the Alps – and historical identity, recalling the essential role played by the House of Savoy in the diffusion of the modern Vermouth.
CHARACTERISTICS
The peculiar style of Cocchi Vermouths makes them identifiable for their strong personality, for the intensity of their floral freshness and spicy fragrances and for their richness of flavors.
The Cocchi Riserva is the culmination of this style that emphasizes the richness and aromatic density of spices with a six months refinement in the bottle.
“Reserve” does not mean aging in barrels, which would affect the complex aromatic balance in favor of oxidation and tannin components, but the valorization of the formula and the savoir faire in production.
As in Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino, the wine is aromatized with a formula particularity rich in Artemisia, Rhubarb, Alpine herbs and a touch of Piedmontese mint.
This composition accentuates the pleasant balsamic effect and gives a surprising freshness, to the point that this product could also be perfectly mixed with aged Rye of Bourbon.
HOW TO DRINK
Dark amber in color but without caramel in its formula, Cocchi Riserva La Venaria Reale is sweet enoght to be enjoyed pure with ice and lemon peel, or by itself as a digestive.

Cocchi Americano is an aromatized wine created in 1891 by Giulio Cocchi and since then produced without interruption according to the original recipe.
The name “Americano” is both due to the alcohol made bitter (“amaricato”) by the addition of herbs and spices and to the American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda.
Produced according to Giulio Cocchi original recipe, Cocchi Americano is recognized in Asti as the aperitif par excellence – a real piece of history of our town.
On its label the original futurist rooster designed in the 30’s and representing his aperitif function (“it awakes the appetite”) as well as one of the symbols of the town of Asti.
CHARACTERISTICS
Cocchi Americano, for its nature, represents the link between wine and liquors being a wine plus a small quantity of alcohol bittered (“amaricato”) by the infusion of precious herbs and spices: white wine, sugar, herbs and spices infusion in alcohol and in particular gentian flowers and leaves, Artemisia, Cinchona, bitter orange peel, elderflower and others.
To produce Cocchi Americano, white wine is aromatized with the extracts obtained through a cold infusion in alcohol, then refined for balancing the spices’ aromas and tastes.
HOW TO DRINK IT
The classic version sees it served well chilled in a cocktail glass with ice cubes, completed with a splash of seltz so to free all its aromas and typical perfumes. It can be perfected with a squeezed out orange peel.
The Spritz Americano version foresees the use of a wine glass plus the addition of a dry sparkling wine. It becomes Royale in combination with a metodo classico Alta Langa DOCG.
In the Summer version the glass is filled with chopped-up ice, making a perfect refreshing drink. The naturally bitter note of Americano is not lost even when abundantly diluted.
In mixology, Cocchi Americano is exceptionally versatile for the classic cocktails as Vesper Martini, Corpse Reviver #2, White Negroni, as modifier or as a base for the aromatizing infusions. Particularly successful the combination with spirits such as gin, vodka and metzcal. It is a perfect ingredient for the new strong trend of the “low octane” cocktails with low alcoholic content.

Vermouth di Torino is a collective heritage of Piedmont, which sees in the royal Savoy court as first big promoter of a product which, mainly starting from the late XVIII century, generated a flourishing industry which led Piedmont to become the Kingdom of Vermouth.
In occasion of the 120 years from the foundation, Storico Vermouth di Torino is again produced according to the original recipe of Giulio Cocchi. This vermouth belongs to the category of the sweet vermouths, or Italian vermouths, sweet and amber as indicated in the manuals of the late XIX century.

CHARACTERISTICS
The original recipe of Giulio Cocchi calls for the use of herbs such as Cinchona and rhubarb which lightly colour of brown the beautiful clear wine. In order to emphasize its amber tone, the addition of sugar browned on fire emphasizes its amber tone, giving together with colour also a special note to the taste: crunchy and cotton candy able to round all the bitter tastes without using vanilla.
A thrilling vermouth, rich in sensations: among the herbs and the aromatizing spices, Artemisia and citrus are the protagonists with their balanced bitter and citrusy notes which characterize Cocchi style.
