Dictador Best of 1987 Altisimo
We hand selected whiskey barrels from the beautiful highlands in which to finish our Best Of collection of Rums. The idea being to bring our rums the unique smoky, mineral and leafy notes associated with these whiskeys. In doing so we’ve created an elegant aroma majestically rounded. The marriage of whiskey notes to our distilled spirits highlights the versatility our rich rums by extracting the malty finish and remaining pure in caramel oaky flavour and mouthfeel.
These bottles are part of a limited series – so be one of the lucky few to discover this unique and incredibly rare rum.

Our flagship Bumbu Rum is based on the original recipe created by 16th and 17th century sailors of the West Indies, who blended native Caribbean ingredients into their rum and called it “Bumbu” – truly the original craft spirit. Bumbu is distilled and bottled at a 123-year old distillery in Barbados from first class sugarcane selected from eight countries across the West Indies.
The finished blend is aged up to 15 years in once-used, grade-A bourbon barrels. These barrels have a medium dark colour, which gives Bumbu its rich colour and enhances the vanilla notes in its taste profile.SKU: BBR01-NV00700-RM
Dictador 2 Masters Chateau d’Arche 19800 out of 5(0)
A 37 year-old Dictador Rum from a 1980 single vintage cask finished in whisky barrels then shipped to Château d’Arche in Sauternes, Bordeaux, France, where it further spent six months in American oak barrels of 225 litres. It is a typical size for Bordeaux wines. This barrel has been filled up with Château d’Arche for the vintage 2014.
Nose : A plethora of sweetness with vanilla crème brulée, dark caramel-coated chocolate and plenty of dried fruits including figs, dates and quince, then hints of toasted bread and orange rind.
Palate : Quite an interesting marriage with marzipan, dried apricots and cloudberry marmalade over maple syrup, milk chocolate and crème brulée. Once the initial burn dissipates, true rum character comes through overtaking the “foreign” flavours and it finishes nicely with a relatively balanced supple golden fruit cake with hints of toast. Fine and supple.
Color : A firm dark bronze going out into a lighter golden hue at the rim, showing high viscosity with fine long legs in the glass.
