Dictador Best of 1978 Extremo
Our heart lines ultimately with the virgin sugar cane, the foundation upon which our culture and spirits are built. We embrace the juice and all the efforts go toward showing the extreme deep, dark colours along with the oaky aromas and robust sugar cane, honey and coffee flavours that can be achieved through the aging process. This is our Rum and it’s the best we can do.
These bottles are part of a limited series – so be one of the lucky few to discover this unique and incredibly rare rum.

Dictador 2 Masters Laballe 19760 out of 5(0)
A 41-year-old Dictador Rum from a 1976 single vintage cask, finished in Bourbon barrels and then shipped to Laballe in Armagnac, where it further spent six months in an interesting Black Gascon oak cask, medium toasted.
Nose : Great complexity and soft vanilla extract, crème caramel, almond butter, banana leaf esters, punctuated by dried apples and figs, as well as powerful phenols.
Palate : It expands and coats the palate with rich dark chocolate, mocha and toasted pecans as an overlay to the more expansive sea-salt caramel and maple bar, going into a long supple finish that lingers with nice touches of caramel apple and high-grade marzipan.
Color : Dark and brooding mahogany with brass accents, going out into a fine light golden rim with high viscosity and nice ‘legs’ showing in the glass.
Matured in Black Gascon oak cask
Time of Finishing: 6 monthsSKU: DTD08-NV00700-RM
Dictador 2 Masters Chateau d’Arche 19800 out of 5(0)
A 37 year-old Dictador Rum from a 1980 single vintage cask finished in whisky barrels then shipped to Château d’Arche in Sauternes, Bordeaux, France, where it further spent six months in American oak barrels of 225 litres. It is a typical size for Bordeaux wines. This barrel has been filled up with Château d’Arche for the vintage 2014.
Nose : A plethora of sweetness with vanilla crème brulée, dark caramel-coated chocolate and plenty of dried fruits including figs, dates and quince, then hints of toasted bread and orange rind.
Palate : Quite an interesting marriage with marzipan, dried apricots and cloudberry marmalade over maple syrup, milk chocolate and crème brulée. Once the initial burn dissipates, true rum character comes through overtaking the “foreign” flavours and it finishes nicely with a relatively balanced supple golden fruit cake with hints of toast. Fine and supple.
Color : A firm dark bronze going out into a lighter golden hue at the rim, showing high viscosity with fine long legs in the glass.
Matured in Fine American Oak medium heat
