TASTING
Known for giving body and structure to our Clos Marey-Monge Monopole, our Grands Esprits cuvée makes a Pommard of great quality and structure. With its intense ruby color and expressive nose marked by aromas of red fruit and spices, it stands out as a perfectly balanced wine. The palate is clean, with structured and dense tannins. A long finish brings a touch of elegance to this complex cuvée.

SOILS
Planted between 1970 and 1980, the vines giving birth to our Grands Esprits cuvée grow on rocky, limestone-rich soils. They produce a beautifully linear Pinot Noir with firm tannins and excellent potential for long aging.
WINEMAKING
Hand-harvested biodynamic grapes, hand-sorted on a vibrating table. 30% whole-cluster, placed into stainless steel fermentation vats by gravity flow. Vertical press. Placed in French oak barrels for aging on fine lees. Light filtration before bottling.

Château de Pommard is a winery in Pommard, Burgundy, France. Established in 1726, the property is known for its two Châteaux, gardens, and its 20-hectare walled vineyard, Clos Marey-Monge. The Châteaux, the vineyard and the winemaking facilities are operated and owned by Michael Baum, who purchased the estate in 2014. The winery produces "Clos" wines –Pinot Noir produced from the fruit of Clos Marey-Monge and "Family" wines –Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village and Bourgogne wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir appellations across the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune.
Just three kilometres south from Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, the ancient vineyard of Clos Marey-Monge sits close to the centre of the Côte d’Or. At 20 hectares, Château de Pommard is the largest private Clos in Burgundy. It’s a place where grand architecture and passionate winemaking converge among the vines.
With almost three centuries of wisdom that has come from respecting and protecting Clos Marey-Monge, Michael Baum, Emmanuel Sala and oenologist and agronomic specialist, Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne, are on a mission to protect the vineyard for another 300 years with Biodynamic viticulture.
