Chateau Malartic Lagraviere Blanc 2017

$118.00
The white wines present exceptional quality. The cool August produced superbly balanced grapes, highlighting their aromatic profiles. For the whites, the aromatic profiles are superb; the wines show a crisp line of acidity, good tightness and a pleasant sappiness, with plenty of fruit and a good quality framework. 80% Sauvignon, 20% SĆ©millon ā€œAttractive, fresh-lemon and grassy nuances with wild herbs and slightly flinty elements, too. Orin Swift Mannequin 2020

$99.00
Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape in California, and Mannequin was created to highlight the varietal from different appellations across the state in a single blend. Each vineyard and their resulting wine lots have their own personality which on their own makes them interesting; however, weā€™ve learned that sometimes the sum of parts can be greater than the parts themselves. You could say the same about the label tooā€¦ Sourced from the Laguna Ranch and Del Rio vineyards in the Russian River Valley, the Stagecoach Vineyard on Atlas Peak and other select vineyards in Sonoma County, the 2020 Mannequin represents some of the best Chardonnay growing areas in California. Nose: Golden straw in the glass with a flash of emerald, the wine opens with notes of ripe Bosc pear, lemon meringue, and white flowers. Palate: On the palate, the entry is coating with yellow peach, honeydew, and wet stone along with a mid of palmiers, tostones and ripe stone fruit. The finish is accentuated by a seam of acidity and leaves one with hints of lemon pith and butterscotch. Varietal: Chardonnay "Complex, with details of butterscotch, ripe melon, baked apple and spices. This has a supple texture that adds an air of elegance, with details of honeycomb and nutmeg on the finish." - 90 points, MaryAnn Worobiec, Senior Editor and Napa Bureau Chief atĀ Wine Spectator

CHARDONNAY | 2022 CASABLANCA VALLEY BRIGHT ā€¢ LUSCIOUS ā€¢ SMOOTH Fresh and expressive aromas of pear, quince, and lemon curd, interwoven with toasty oak notes. On the palate, vibrant purity of the fruit, with a beautiful texture and depth that leads to a memorable long finish. A very expressive and elegant wine. This vintage in Casablanca presented good conditions starting in spring, setting us up for excellent flowering and fruit set. Harvest began the last week of February, which was slightly delayed from what we had planned. However, things sped up and we had a very good ripening curve, especially at the end of the season. This year, the first varieties to be harvested were Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, having received very good temperatures from October onwards. This Chardonnay is silky and mineral and is without a doubt an elegant and expressive wine. Recommended Serving Temperature: 12ĀŗC Food Pairing: Seafood, Chicken Salad "A pure chardonnay here with some wet stones, green pineapples and lime. Nice texture on the crisp, linear palate. A nice attack of fresh acidity and an alkaline, chalky finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now." - 90 points, James Suckling

Waipara West N Block Chardonnay 2020

$53.00
2020 vintage was the earliest in our 30 years at Waipara West. We had a warm, dry September and cool October were followed by our hottest November on record, this set up very favourable conditions for f lowering. Summer started with dry, slightly warmer conditions than normal for both December and January, followed by a dry, much warmer than average February, this put much of the east coast of New Zealand, including North Canterbury into drought. March brought a break in the heat and some much needed rain that slowed the ripening of beautiful clean fruit, the first blocks were picked on the 16th of March. April, returned to dry weather, with above-average temperatures which was ideal for the bulk of our harvest. The grapes were hand harvested from the upper terrace from a combination of various clones. Clones are picked and vinified separately until blending for aging. Colour: A clear pale lemon core with a gold hue and flecks of green and silver. Aroma: The aroma of the wine is truly multi-layered. It shows fresh lime and lemon, white stone fruit and fragrant almond blossom mixed with malt biscuit and underlying mineral notes.
