Gonzalez Byass Tio Pepe En Rama
With fewer of the typical markers being filtered out, it brings us a more intense expression of the typical Carrascal and Macharnudo terroir. It was bottled from a hand-picked selection of 67 barrels which showed the most vigorous layer of flor. Tio Pepe En Rama 2020 was marked by an unusually dry and mild winter, followed by a cool and rainy spring. This year the profits are used to support the re-opening of bars and restaurants in Spain ā another reason to try it.
Pale yellow with golden glints. Slightly cloudy as it contains flor in suspension, reflecting its having been bottled āEn Ramaā. Complex on the nose, very sharp, with a strong aroma of the layer of flor, together with chalk, almonds, lemon, withered flowers, salt, and minerals. Concentrated, slightly creamy, salty, and full of flavour. It delivers an impressive finish, rounded and balanced, with notes of iodine, toasted almonds, aldehydes and dried flowers. The aftertaste is rounded and alluring, clearly harking back to its origins in the albariza soil yet also reflecting the significance of its biological ageing. This wine is the purest definition of vines and the winery.
Vilmart & Cie Grande Reserve
The blond colour with pale golden highlights announces a wine mostly composed of Pinot Noir and reflects perfect maturity. The effervescence is long-lasting, giving birth to a persistent and delicate mousse with fine bubbles. The first impression on the nose is marked by great intensity. She is opening on biscuit, mature wheat, pear, and cherry flavour. After a few seconds, the nose became wider. The iris, oak, celery, white pepper, and fine mineral aromas bring depth and complexity to the wine. With air, melted butter and toast notes appear, reflecting a harmonious evolution of the wine.
There is a fine balance between the primary aromas (fruits), secondary (biscuit, bread, butter) and tertiary (minerals and spices).
Blending is composed of 70 % Pinot Noir and 30 % Chardonnay classified Premier Cru and from vines in Rilly-la-Montagne. Ageing 10 months in large oak casks. No malolactic fermentation. Dosage 9g/L.
"A blend of pinot noir (70%) and chardonnay (30%), this has a profound sense of harmony on both the nose and palate. Aromas of grilled nuts, pepper and lightly spiced wild raspberry fruits are pristine, leading to a palate that has beautifully supple, fleshy texture. The acidity is assertive, not harsh; the depth, balance and concentration is really something. Drink now whilst fresh or up to three years." - 92 points, James Suckling
Domaine Albert Mann Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg 2018

On the palate, the attack is tense and is underlined by minerality and chiselled acidity. There are lemony aromas. The structure is ample with nice bitters. Beautiful expression of a granite terroir. This wine exudes youth.
BenMarco Expresivo 2021

Fine-grained tannins are in tune with its energy, delivering excellent drinkability. Shows the vibrancy and balance from this vintage. 85% malbec and 15% cabernet franc. Drink or hold." - James Suckling
Gonzalez Byass Dos Palmas
This sublime Fino is aged for a very long time, developing flavours that reflect a perfect balance between the soil and the veil of flor. For this release of Dos Palmas, we selected numbers 87 and 76 of the 148 barrels that make up this solera, on the second floor of the Gran Bodega TĆo Pepe.
A deep golden colour with amber glints and delicate tears. Complex on the nose, with prominent aromas of flor. Sharp and piquant with nutty aromas, it displays a great balance between the albariza soil and an old fino aged in the winery. These two barrels reveal the splendour of the flor. The barrels selected this year were numbers 87 and 76.
Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Our 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a layered wine with notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hits of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were carefully destemmed and transferred to upright tanks for a two-day cold soak. To build its round, elegant mouthfeel, the wine saw 15 to 20 days of maceration time and was pumped over two to three times daily. Each lot was aged and meticulously evaluated separately, with the final blend taking place in May 2019. In total, the wine aged for 16 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels (40% new).
Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
"A slightly high-toned red with walnut, berry, chocolate and spice on the nose and palate. Medium-to full-bodied with chewy tannins and a rich finish. A little firmer and tighter than in the past, which equates to a more serious red. A touch of petit sirah in this. Drink or hold." - 93 points, James Suckling
Gonzalez Byass Solera 1847
Solera 1847 shows a dark intense mahogany colour due to the addition of Pedro XimƩnez. On the nose aromas of raisins, vanilla, oak and slight hints of hazelnuts. On the palate a delicate wine with a smooth reminder of dates and raisins finishing with touches of caramel and oak and a subtle note of nuts.
This wine should be served slightly chilled, 10-12 ĀŗC, in a small wine glass. Ideal as an aperitif with cheese, however also as a dessert wine with ice cream, or fruit-based desserts and with dried fruits.
"This is a big, lush, cream sherry with a ton of caramel and plum-cake character. However, it has bright acidity that gives lift and a lot of appeal at the raisiny finish. Drink now." - 92 points, James Suckling
Locations E Spanish Red Wine
The interplay of provenance, artistry, freedom, and creativity is what inspires us at Locations. With the Iberian Peninsula serving as a backdrop, this fertile ground allowed us to incorporate these attributes into the fourth release of our Spanish offering. Much like generations of craftsmen before us, we were intent to capture the nobility of Spain through its geographic diversity. Fruit with Mediterranean and Continental influences was sourced from five regions in particular: Priorat, Jumilla, Toro, Rioja, and Ribera del Duero. Old vines, low yields, and a palate attuned to excellence, work in harmony and enable us to reach our goal of producing a great wine, from the best locations in the world.
The wine presents a dark, polished amethyst with aromatic notes of white pepper, tobacco, and black currant emerging from the glass. A silky mouthfeel with a palate of dark plums, black raspberry, and hints of French vanilla closes with subtle tart black cherry and a lengthy, structural finish.
A blend of Grenache/Garnacha, Tempranillo, Monastrell, and Carignan/CariƱena

"Aromas of sweet strawberries with citrus and floral undertones, as well as blueberries and hot stones. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a flavorful, lightly austere finish. This shows tone and texture. A blend of garnacha, tempranillo, monastrell and carinena. Drink or hold." - 92 point, James Suckling
